Rainwater Harvesting
Rainwater harvesting is the process of collecting, filtering and storing water from roof tops, paved and unpaved areas for multiple uses. The harvested water can be used for irrigation systems, recyled for loo flushing (after suitable treatment), car washing and patio cleansing. Rainwater harvesting system provides a source of soft, high quality water, reduce dependence on wells and other sources, and, in many contexts, are cost effective. Rainwater harvesting system can range in size from a simple PVC tank to a contractor designed and built sump. Rainwater systems are inherently simple in form. Harvesting rainwater is not only water conserving, it is also energy saving since the energy input required to operate a centralized water system can be bypassed.
Gray water from baths and showers can also be saved in the rainwater tank, especially useful during summer months when the water is required for garden irrigation and rainfall is not plentiful (well - except in 2007!!).
With the Rain Catcher System you can:-
Collect and store free water for use later, thus saving money on water bills.
Use the water to naturally water your garden, chemical free.
Wash the car and around the house, for free. Pressure washer easy to connect.
Flush loos with our mains top-up unit.
Stack and/or link multiple tanks, increasing capacity.
Individually designed system
Underground tanks Installation of a rainwater system should take into account local conditions. The correct design will ensure years of trouble free operation. It is an individual choice whether to use plastic, GRP or concrete tanks, either above or below ground. Where is the tank to be sited, does it need to withstand the weight of traffic, is good access available for the excavation and installation of an underground tank.
